Personal History Salvia was the first born child of Polly Taylor and Ade Carro. She spent her childhood on the beaches of a little town called Anchor Point in Alaska. Sally’s parents were both Archeologists and were often off discovering new dig sites, leaving her in charge of her two younger siblings once she was old enough to be left alone with them. Despite the extra responsibility and having to grow up fast, she holds no ill will toward her parents.

Growing up in Alaska provided some unique opportunities for Sally. Their town was small and she learned the value of not being able to transport directly to wherever she wanted to go. She took great pleasure in walking and making her own entertainment and was often accompanied by her brother Robert and sister Susan. They played many imaginative games on the beaches in the summer and spent winters building forts out of snow and ice.

When she was old enough to decide what she wanted to do with her life, Sally knew that her life could only continue in the service of others. Starfleet wasn’t her first thought but she recognized the ability to not only help people, but to do so in far off places. When she was accepted at the academy her first interest was counseling but she couldn’t see spending her entire life locked in one room and only helping one person at a time. After studying the aftermath of the Dominion War, Sally was fascinated with the idea of diplomacy and changed her focus at the academy to include this.
